Ferrous sulphate compound has versatile applications includes some special attentions:

  • Lawn conditioner and moss killer
  • Photographic developer
  • Protective coating component
  • Gold refining agent
  • Flocculating agent and eutrophication prevention agents.

As everyone knows it is an important nutrient for all animals as well as human being to produce healthy red blood cells, ferrous sulfate is also used to fortify foods and also used to treat the iron-deficiency anemia a common problem identified around the world. Ferrous sulfate is used in dying especially it finds use in wool dyeing as a mordant, applicable as stain remover in lime stone and sand stone. In horticulture it is used for treating iron chlorosis.

Storage: Should be stored in chill dry well arid fully sheltered area avoiding hot temperature and other heating sources and alkaline like materials and should also not be stacked more than 10 bags high.

  • Nutritional Supplement : Together with other iron compounds, ferrous sulfate is used to fortify foods and to treat iron-deficiency anemia. Constipation is a frequent and uncomfortable side effect associated with the iron supplements.
  • Colorant : Ferrous sulfate was used in the manufacture of inks, most notably iron gall ink. It also finds use in wool dyeing as a mordant. Harewood, a material used in marquetry and parquetry is also made using ferrous sulfate.
  • Horticulture Uses : In horticulture it is used for treating iron chlorosis. It can be mixed with compost and dug into to the soil to create a store which can last for years.
  • Moss Killer: There is only one compound available that kills moss in lawns, and that is iron sulphate also known as Ferrous Sulphate. It is the moss killing component of moss killers and lawn sand and is commonly sold in the green keeping industry as a fertiliser. It can be used by applying iron sulphate moss killer, usually by sprayer or watering can during the moss growth period, anytime from late autumn through to spring. When treating lawns with ferrous sulphate it keep pets away from the surface for at least one week.
  • Purification of Water Water purification process can be made by applying ferrous sulphate heptahydrate. Most of the industries such as Petroleum refineries, Municipalities, Hotels, Military Bases are the main establishments that can use ferrous sulphate heptahydrate for purification process. Ferrous sulphate heptahydrate can be used to obtain recyclable water from waste water by the same process.

  • Pharmaceutical and Food industry

Iron is an important element in the human body and is required to produce healthy red blood cells. Insufficient iron intake can result in anemia. Many foods are fortified with extra iron such as cereals and certain types of bread. Other foods naturally contain high levels of iron, such as red meats, fish, poultry and leafy green vegetables.
